How has the local countryside come to be as it is?

The countryside surrounding the Buèges Valley is one of its most precious assets, rich in wildlife and beautiful landscape. However, far from being unchangeable, as we might be tempted to believe, our Mediterranean landscape is constantly changing under the constraint of several factors: human, climatic, and geological.

Through close observation, we can discover the past, understand why the land is as it is today and speculate upon its future.
